At River City, we believe God is forming us into a church of House Churches — a family of smaller communities where the gospel becomes tangible in everyday life.

House Churches are a place to be known and to know others. They are where we practice the way of Jesus together and experience His love in real community. This is shared life in Christ. It’s meals and prayer, Scripture and honest conversation, showing up for one another in both joy and hardship.

It’s not about having it all together.

It’s about learning to walk with Jesus together as He transforms us and sends us to love like He loves.

Where Family Is Formed

We gather weekly in homes throughout the greater Wausau area.

Each House Church centers around a shared meal and conversational engagement with the Scripture we studied on Sunday. This isn’t a traditional Bible study format. We love studying the Bible, but our deeper aim is the formation of Gospel-fluent hearts and the building of spiritual family that lives out the “one another’s” of Scripture.

We’re learning to:

  • Encourage one another

  • Bear one another’s burdens

  • Confess and forgive

  • Pray boldly

  • Show up consistently

Over time, strangers become brothers and sisters.
